What help is available that is free for homeless people either new or the more long term. Local Government has special departments that deal with the homeless at no charge and can advise on what are your best options, Charities are also a good option and can advise and place you in some sort of shelter, sometimes it can take time but rest assured they will try to help. Citizens Advice Bureau

can provide free legal advice and further information on your legal rights when you are homeless. There are also free medical centres for those who become ill whilst being homeless and living on the streets and are not registered with a local doctor. Further information on help for the homeless and advice is available at the Help and Legal Sections of the London Homeless website.
